Every morning when I walk down into the 86th street Lexington station, there are a handful of paperboys and papergirls handing out free issues of Metro and AMNY. There's also that one guy on the corner that actually sells issues of NY Post (?). Anyways, besides him, I think the paperboys/girls need to adapt to a new strategy when it comes down to handing out free newspapers. If it hasn't already been done yet, this will be the first time you'll be seeing this suggestion: Instead of repeating 'free metro' or 'get your free AM New York', why not give us a sneak peak as to what the issue contains? I'm sure it'll ease the monotony of saying the same thing over and over again, day in day out throughout the entire 5-day work week. Also, it'll definitely peak some interest from passerbys... "'American Hot Rod' Star Dead'", uh say what?! The current state of paperboy/girl-dom reminds me of poorly functioning news aggregators on the web that really make people work for their information. Imagine getting a link that reads "Click Here for More Information" in your RSS feed. Would you really click on that?
