During my morning commutes on the 8 line in Shanghai, I've been reading Oliver Sacks' Musicophilia, in physical form. Yes, a book. It's quite a contrast from my fellow subway mates, who are enslaved to their digital devices; texting, checking email, listening to music, reading news, and so on. Without the advantages of something digital, e.g. iPad, I had to make do.

Do not be scared to earmark your pages
Do not be scared to earmark your pages

I'm going to assume that a lot of you have done this in the past (during the physical book era) where you would earmark the top or lower corners of a page in a book to denote content worth revisiting. However, have you ever considered the side view of a closed book as a way of visualizing where the frequency of good content occurs?

In the photo below, the relevant content for me appears in the latter half of the book where Sacks goes into depth about how music therapy affects the motor and auditory cortex.

Take THAT iPad!
