After our last successful project together, the Mozilla Labs Tab Challenge, a few of us from the original project had some free time to take on another project. This time it was for Amazon.com, who was looking for the 5 best, 30-second clips advertising Amazon and it's services. With only a month until deadline, me, Carmen Dukes, and Russ Maschmeyer got cracking on a concept for the project. Concept We wanted to demonstrate the variety of products Amazon.com provided to existing and potential customers. Also, we wanted our concept to run parallel to Amazon's "As easy as A to Z" message. To bring all these ideas together, our video had a 4 year old tell us what he wanted on Amazon.com from "A to Z" and for him, it was as easy as singing his ABCs. To further demostrate the versatility of this concept, we applied this to adults in different occupations such as a cab driver and a chef at a popular midtown restaurant. A is for Apron A is for Air Freshener Credits Before directing you to the video, all of this would not have been possible if it wasn't for: - Jordan Pai, who had to deal with a bunch of 'old people' constantly asking him to sing his ABCs (Thanks Katy and Chris for letting us 'borrow' your kid!)
- David Hou, who spent an entire afternoon shooting video and getting baby Jordan to sing his ABCs.
- Russ Maschmeyer, who not only partook in the brainstorming sessions and the birth of the concept, but also spent a few days putting the video together while touring with his band, The XYZ Affair.
- Carmen Dukes, who mentioned the contest to us initially and also helped to come up with our concept. She was also a part of the 'old people' group pleading with Jordan to sing his ABCs over and over again.
- As for me, I helped with the initial brainstorming sessions. I also convinced a NYC cabbie to take a picture with a cue card and on that same day, made my way into the kitchen of a 5-star restaurant with the help of my friend, who's also the chef (guy in picture).
Alas, here's the video (image below will redirect you to Youtube)! What does Jordan want from Amazon.com?
