Contribution Design Strategy Nutrition Business Journal's main revenue comes from selling custom research products. Other channels of revenue includes online and print subscriptions. One key difference between this and previous redesigns was that ads weren't high in priority. This allowed me to take advantage of the 'extra' screen real estate and push NBJ's products further into the foreground. Moodboarding Prior to starting up Adobe Fireworks CS3, which I highly recommend for web design, I cannibalized several magazines for NBJ's moodboard. You'll notice in the moodboard below that I glued all my magazine clippings onto a folder. This helps to better organize your physical assets (notes, moodboard, etc.) by keeping it all in one place. NBJ Moodboard Organizing the Homepage The team and I got together to discuss how content on the homepage would be organized. With post-it notes in hand and site objectives in mind, we got cracking. After an hour of shuffling items up, down, left, right, we came up with the organization below. Note: The level of importance goes from top to bottom. Oh, and you'll also notice that this is the other side of the folder used in the moodboarding process. Organizing the Homepage with Post-it Notes Final Mockups After compiling all the research from the steps above and assessing the needs of NBJ, the pages (shown below) were fleshed out. Since this site's revenue was built off of a subscription model, pages like the Why Join and the Wall page were also mocked up. Okay, enough of me talking, it's time to experience the site .
