So this morning, I woke up to the sounds of helicopters and sirens. Lo and behold, I step out of my apartment to find out that (another) crane collapsed and that it was two blocks over. Quickly, I ran back into my apartment to fetch my camera... ![]() On the front of my doorstep... ![]() Lady scared about the crane crushing her dog ![]() Where is he going to tie the other end of the tape? ![]() Shady guy in front ![]() Crane Decapitated ![]() I wonder if this woke him up ![]() And the boys are back in town! ... duh duh duh ![]() Crane Check ![]() The part that fell... ![]() Posing in front of Emergency Vehicles ![]() Looking up ![]() And here comes the NYPD copter ![]() Big Copter, Mini Copter ![]() Okay... finally leaving the scene to start my Friday at work So yea, that was my eventful morning. According to some people, the crane looked very ominous hanging over the 1st avenue area. I've seen it a couple of times before while doing my laundry over at the Mat on 89th and 1st and I never dared to walk under it. With what happened earlier this year, this particular crane did raise a sense of caution. My question is, how would you go about dodging a crane crashing from 20+ stories overhead? If you really don't have an answer, I suggest avoiding construction zones, especially the ones on the east side of town. For more information on this, check out CNN's latest coverage.
