The construction was completed during the reign of Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1626. It was built as the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shoguns. The Tokugawa Shogunate used Edo (now Tokyo) as the capital city, but Kyoto continued to be the home of the Imperial Court. ![]() I think this is the side entrance... ![]() A Feudal Lord's Chariot ![]() Where many have perished to alligators and pirahanas... jk ![]() And when in Nijo, No Scribbling! ![]() One of Tokugawa's servants giving the peasants a tour of the castle ![]() Nijo Dress Code ![]() That exit sign dates back to the 1600s ![]() Will begins his attack with his (very manly) umbrella ![]() Nijo sends for reinforcements ![]() Nijo Castle ![]() Gutter Filtering System, I wonder if Home Depot carries this ![]() Castle tops ![]() Nijo garden consists of a nicely trimmed shrub ![]() Tokyo is a much more happening place ![]() What Mr. Miyagi aspired his garden to be ![]() Now where's Daniel-san? ![]() Get your walking shoes ready when visiting Nijo ![]() Will and Kelvin in front of the 2nd inner moat ![]() The fish here are about 400+ years old ![]() That way! ![]() 2nd floor ![]() At the highest point in Nijo ![]() From an archer's vantage point ![]() I wasn't joking when I said the weather wasn't all that great ![]() Making our way back to the entrance ![]() Nijo bank vault ![]() Tree STD ![]() Shirou ![]() Last picture of flowers you'll see!
