So at around 12pm, we head out from Asakusa to Kyoto... ![]() 240 sitting curbside in front of the hostel ![]() Playing Hide-n-Go seek with a minivan ![]() Aboard the Shinkansen - Godzilla was here ![]() Is it baseball season? ![]() Inside the shinkansen ![]() Nagoya Station? ![]() Morning Exercise Gung Ho Style! ![]() Vrooooommmm! ![]() 2 1/2 Hours later, we arrive at Kyoto station For people planning on visiting Kyoto, I suggest you hitting up the 7th(?) floor of the Isetan building for all the tourist information needed. Isetan is a part of the JR Kyoto station you arrive at. Also, as suggested by the people at the tourist information booth, it is most cost efficient to get around by bus. Bikes here are about $10 USD a day, which is a bit much compared to what we were getting in Asakusa ($3 USD for 3 days). I think the all day bus passes were going for $8 USD. ![]() View of Kyoto from the Isetan Building ![]() Another view from the Isetan ![]() In front of Kyoto Station ![]() Will trying to get a picture with the ladies ![]() And let this segment of our journey begin! Since we really didn't have an agenda for the day, we picked the first interesting item off the tourist map and it was... ![]() a castle! ![]() Across the street from the castle ![]() Oh... and there's a good luck cat ![]() Denied! Crap! Seems like all the tourist attractions in Kyoto closes at around 4pm... ![]() Along the walls of Nijo Castle ![]() Ew, they make 4 door EP Hatches?! ![]() What to do? I think we ended the night with some kickass yakitori (and this wasn't on St. Marks). To be continued...
